As our nomination for the 5th edition of Le Mans Classic was confirmed and the racedate gets in sight, the chateau packages start to sell like hotcakes! Even though July 9-10-11, 2010 is still more than 6 month away, 16 packages have already been booked by fans and a raceteam from the german speaking countries of Europe (Germany, Austria and Switzerland). So what's up with y'all on the other side of the pond and down-under? You guys from the USA and AUS better hurry with your bookings or we will have to chage the chateau BBQ menu from Cheeseburgers to Schwenkbraten and Nürnberger Würstel!

Here is a bit more on our program for you fans whi wish to join us for Le Mans Classic 2010. Next to real lodging in a real 13th century Chateau 10 miles south of the famous Le Mans 24 Hours track, here is what you can expect from July 8 afternoon to July 12 morning!

First half of the field selected for Le Mans Classic 2010

Promptly before Christmas, Peter Auto and the ACO selected about 180 competitors to fill 50% of the total available starting spots for Le Mans Classic 2010. Each of the 6 grids should have 60 firmly selected cars and 10 reserve cars that are to pull in the field if or when the first fall out of the qualifiyng or race. Here are those where the driver(s) is from the USA !

Yes! Peter Auto just issued the first list, which holds about half of the field for Le Mans Classic 2010. We made it for a third time in a row! Le Mans Classic, here we come! So now hurry and book your stay with the Oly Express Team for a once in a lifetime experience!

1972 Dodge has its warm and dry pyjama

Our orange and grey 1972 Charger put on its pyjama for the winter time. Thanks to Softgarage, the mighty Mopar will be protected until next season's kick-off. We will also use the Softgarage during trucking to and from the tracks.

Le Mans Classic 2010 promotion video

Peter Auto and the ACO have uploaded the 2008 summary video of Le Mans Classic as a teaser for the 2010 edition. Watch it by clicking here and dive for five and a half minutes into the unique magic of Le Mans Classic! Watch out for Ludovic Caron's huge high speed spin in his Shelby Cobra at the end of the video. No wonder that Ford switched to the GT40!

You can see the Dodge battle it out with Robert Dubler's Corvette 427 and Stan de Sadeleer's BMW M1. The filming persepctive is very intereting as you can see the grade in the famous Mercedes Arena. Team Olympia at Reims Circuit Revival 2009

We had a good fun week-end at Reims during the annual 12 Hours and Grand Prix Circuit revival. It not a race at all but about enjoying Champagne bubbles and vintage cars. 1969 Oly Express Dodge Charger on GT Legends videogame

Karl-Heinz Roggendorf from Cologne, Germany, just sent us these great pictures of a 1969 Oly Charger that runs on GT Legends! The creator of this fine model even duplicated the white Le Mans Classic tents and the Le Mans grandstands from the 70s! While it is not the correct year, we know that a 1974 model is on its way. Just the right stuff to practice for Le Mans Classic 2010!

Counting down to Le Mans Classic 2010

The world biggest, greatest and best vintage race is now less than 9 month away! On July 8-9-10-11, 2010 the big 24 Hours Le Mans track will host again the famous Le Mans Classic vintage race. While we are getting our Dodge Charger, and probably another great piece of V8 iron, ready to race, you can already book your room with us in a castle near the track.

Oly Dodge's rollercoaster Ring week-end

Did we have a great race week-end? You bet! With Team Oly, win or loose, our races are always great. And so it was again on the famous Nürburgring 1000 km Le Mans Series track. We had it all: sweat, tears, ups and lows. Due to an ejected oil filter, our dry qualifying was ruined and almost the HEMI as well! Luckily, I shut down the big elephant early enough to prevent any serious damage!

Oly Charger gets ready to rock at Nürburgring CER

It has been one solid year since the Oly Express Dodge's HEMI V8 resounded in the German Eifel mountains. It is about time to come back! The MOPARSHOP is putting the final touches on the Olympia Charger for the Classic Endurance Race on August 21 and 22 at Germany's best racetrack. Be there or be square!

Olympia Charger to be timed by Jo Siffert Watches at Nürburgring CER

We are very happy to announce that our timing will be right on the race spot with a Jo Siffert wristwatch at the coming Nürburgring Classic Endurance race. Thanks to Philippe Siffert, who started the Jo Siffert brand to honor his late father, we will rely on one of these great swiss made watches to monitor our timing. Jo Siffert logos should also find their way on our Charger. Now, we all know that Jo Siffert was mainly into Porsche Prototypes and F1 single seaters, but we are all sure that he would have also made the Oly Dodge fly!

Hershel McGriff back in NASCAR at 81

At an age at which most elderly citizens do not dare to drive anything but a Golf Kart, Hershel McGriff, now 81 years old, is back at it for real. His son and crew chief Hershel Jr. has prepped their 2003 DEI Chevrolet to the max and they had been training some for the coming Salute The Troops 125!

Right after the Lausitzring Jim Clark Revival, our Dodge Charger got interesting coverage in the media. Click on the links to read what DasAutoBlog, Motoraver and Motorsportfreunde wrote about us. It appears as if the big B-Body Mopar was one of the major crowd pleasers. We're very happy for that, as it is always great to please the fans with a good show on the track. We want to go back to the Lausitzring in 2010 and we're pretty sure that the number of fans will be even bigger then!

Oly rocks at Jim Clark Revival Lausitzring

Did we have great week-end? You bet! Our race at the 2009 Jim Clark Revival was absolutely fantastic. Even though it started with a couple of fried caliper seals, the Oly Express crew once more worked wonders, so that we even finished second in class behind the Porsche 911 RSR of Daniel Schrey. Along the way, laping the 3.4 km roadcourse in 1.50s, we had great battles with Mathias Beetz and Bernhard Voslamber's BMW 2002 tii as well as Urs Müller's absolutly beautiful Aston Martin DB4 GT. Add to this a few demo sessions on the big oval alonsige Stefan Oberndorfer's Skoal Bandit Lumina, where Bjoern drove the Charger and you can imagine that we had great fun. Our thanks go to Ronny Bredhauer and his crew who did a flawless job and used all the advantages of the Lausitzring track! We'll be back for Jim Clark Revival 2010.

MOPARSHOP to support Oly Express Racecar

We are happy to announce that the MOPARSHOP of Germany will be servicing our racecars during the 2009 season. This assures excellent preparation and of our racing machines! One of the MOPARSHOPs skilled mechanics will also be travelling with us to the races as part of our crew.

Our trucking partner KFZ-Transporte Erkrath is thinking about investing in a new 7.5 ton hauler. Would'nt it be just too cool to have one, decorated like these good old OLY beer trucks?

Nürburgring Test on rainy Grand Prix track

After a cancelled Nordschleife Test due to snowfall (!) on Tuesday, we came back to the Nürburgring on Sunday to participate in the FHR racing series session on the GP-track. The testing conditions were just perfect, because it rained most of the day and the track was really wet and slippery. Just what we needed to sort out the MOTUL Charger!
