Clearly the closest to the NASCAR Charger in term of power to weight ratio, the BMW CSL's in group 5 trim could lap the Le Mans track in just 4 minutes. The best finisher was the #42 ALPINA prepared 3,5 litre CSL of the Faltz BMW team, driven by Harald Grohs, Sam Posey and Hughes de Fierlandt, in 10th spot after 24 hours and 299 laps. The best remebered is of course the BMW ArtCar, specially decorated for the occasion by Monsieur Hervé Poulain, a famous french notary, who should also compete at the 2006 Le Mans Classic.
