Following his introduction in the Motorsports Hall of Fame, Hershel McGriff hosted a dinner party in Portland for his family, friends and former team members. Alongside Hershels youngest daughter Gina and his grand-grand-baby-grandson, a total of 42 people attended, most of which were involved in the racing.
Dick and Sally felt very privileged to be asked to attend that dinner. Even though all grew older and some also wider, the team reunion brought back lots of greats memories and laughter, as you can judge by the pictures. The tale of Dick Pierson racing the "rebrewed" Oly Express Charger at Le Mans Classic added the icing on the cake!

Benny Johnson among the guest at the dinner. Benny was right front tire changer and assistant crew chief for the Le Mans Charger. He also served as Winston West Crew Chief.

Benny, Hershel and Bud Hickey get together for a good laugh. Bud was one of Hershel's most feared competitors in the 60's and 70's on the short tracks. They became long time friends and have always stayed in touch.
