Le Mans Classic Grid 6: Porsche 911 3.0 RS
Certainly one of the most popular Le Mans entries of its time, thanks to its ease of operation, robust performance and reliability, the Porsche 911 3.0 RS, also known as Group 3 Porsche 911, is a force to rekon at Le Mans Classic.
While its 230 horsepower flat 6 engine will not make it a top speed contender on Mulsanne, you can bet that its nimble weigh of just 900 kilos combined with the huge 309 mm front rotors, will allow its driver to brake very late. Currently, only two such 911 of frenchmen Gadal/Laloge and Rupp/Boyer are on the 60 car list of selectees, as Siggi Brunn chose to enter his Sauber C5 prototype, instead of his gorgeous blue number 54 that he had at Silverstone.
