Testing in the rain for Le Mans Classic
Well, I know that NASCAR Winston Cup cars are not supposed to be run in the rain, but that was just the way it was during our testing day in the Ardennes. The great advantage of Rocroi's former airstrip is that the only neighbours that the HEMIs bellow will disturb are the razobacks and deers in the surrounding woods.
We had a solid day of testing, reviewed our checklists, found out that dirt track tyres are no good on wet concrete and managed to powerslide the big Dodge by the end of the day! Now we are up for a new set of Goodyear wets and all set for action at Le Mans Classic 2008! Yes, we'll wash the Charger before going there.

Hello Christophe.
You've got to love that wide open pavement! How long is the strip? How about a top speed run with a radar gun? What fun! Too bad there's no powerslide pics-or are there? Let's see! I hope all is well with your Le Mans preparations. Go git 'em!

Hi Don,
the strip is 3 km long. That is about 1.8 miles. it was built by NATO in the early 50s and P51s and F86s flew from there. It is indeed ideal to simulate the Le Mans high speeds :D
