What a thrill to see another 115" MoPar racecar come back to life! This former USAC Charger is based on a Nichels chassis and could have even been bodied as a Superbird, when it first hit the track. You can see more pictures of this Nichels Charger by clicking here.
Some sources indicate that it was driven by Ramo Stott at least in one USAC race in 1972 and then by Roger McCluskey in 1973 and 1974. It is being restored right now by Hodge Mopars in South Carolina. It will be powered by a HEMI and have a Tex Racing red stripe 833. Good choice, guys!

If this car came from Pierce Brothers in Spiceland Ind.the car is a nichels car they had 2 skinned as chargers one had an adjustable tortion bar on the left front. This was the car we called the dirt car. And it was originally a Charger Daytona Dow Chemical car. If this is the car the sway bar bushings are machined out about .125" bigger than the bar diameter. sway bar tube is bent. Larry Moore drove these cars and I worked on them. The above mentioned car won a it's last race a USAC Race at Salem Ind. with Larry Moore driving in the summer of 1975 we ran over a piece of blown motor and bent the sway bar tube while leading' an went on to win with one hell of a push. Their other Nichels car also had a charger body that the windshield was layed way back and top was really lowered. This car didn't have T.B. adjustment. They also had a Cotton Owens Charger that we set a USAC track record at Milwaukee in 1977
